Slow reboot vista
The only recourse known at this time is to downgrade the BIOS to I did and I now have great performance in my Vista Ultimate Some users have reported success with later BIOS versions under special circumstances, but I wasn't able to get any version newer than to work successfully and I tried all of them that are currently available on the Intel web site. It was only when I hit that things started working well. I don't know if the earlier BIOS will support the Quads or not but if so might be a solution for you.
It worked! BIOS v solved the problem. However, it would not install in Vista x I installed a dual boot to XP and tried to install from there. That failed and my system wouldn't boot at all. I used the BIOS recovery method to finally install and everything works fine now.
Thanks so much for this tip. I'm glad you got things working. I wonder I previously tried all BIOS versions after up to and including without success so I reverted to I just checked Intel's site and found that a new release is available. The release notes says it addresses some problems with Vista and systems over 4GB so I thought I'd give it a try.
